INCIBE Strategic Projects

The National Cybersecurity Institute is an organization under the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Public Functioning through the National Office of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, and is integrated as a reference organization for the development of cybersecurity and digital trust for citizens and businesses, a driver of social transformation, an opportunity for innovation, and R&D&I and talent development.

INCIBE’s specific mission is to increase the cybersecurity capacity of society and the economy as a whole, through programs aimed at promoting and creating knowledge and its transfer to productive sectors, by establishing synergies between the social and economic spheres of cybersecurity. To this end, a Grant Program for Excellence in Advanced Research Teams in Cybersecurity was launched in 2018. To provide continuity to this strategy, for 2022, specifically on December 5th, an open call for collaboration in the promotion of strategic cybersecurity projects in Spain was announced.

These efforts are part of the Global Security Innovation Programme contained in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) through Component 15. Investment 7 Cybersecurity: Strengthening the capacity of citizens, SMEs and professionals to revitalise the sector.

Strategic projects are a way of providing concrete solutions to some of the greatest scientific and technological challenges facing our society and economy. These are designed to foster the application of research and innovation results, combine new forms of governance and collaboration, and engage citizens with productive and social structures.
