A whiff of youthful entrepreneurship is in the air as Anne Arundel County gears up for the Annapolis Children’s Business Fair. Held on April 27, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., the fair will transform the parking lot of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Arnold into a bustling market offering businesses for children ages 5 to 16. insight and creativity will be on display.

Originally conceived in Austin, Texas, the Acton Children’s Business Fair has become a global phenomenon, expanding to more than 1,400 fairs in 542 cities in 23 countries. The Annapolis event is part of this growing network that has so far fostered the business talent of more than 54,000 young entrepreneurs around the world.

This unique event provides children with the opportunity to experience the world of business first-hand. The participant will be responsible for developing a brand, creating a product or service, developing a marketing strategy, and ultimately he will sell the product to real customers in a marketplace one day. This hands-on approach is designed to inspire and educate children about the basics of entrepreneurship and business management.

The fair is open to individual children or groups, and each business must submit one application. A nominal fee of $25 will be charged for each accepted booth. This includes a free T-shirt. Additional shirts are also available for purchase.

With a competition element, the event will award awards in three categories: most original business idea, highest business potential, and best presentation. Winners in each category receive a $50 cash prize along with a certificate, fostering a healthy spirit of competition among young participants.

Organizers of the Annapolis Children’s Business Fair are excited to provide a platform for young people to explore and express their entrepreneurial talents. Interested attendees are encouraged to review the FAQ and contact us with any questions regarding the event.
