XTCC, an investment ecosystem dedicated to integrity carbon-based exchange-listed investments, is marking World Oceans Day by announcing a partnership with Lady Merle, an Estonian swimming champion and ocean conservation advocate known globally as the “Eco Mermaid,” and Silvio Pupo-Casco of Logos Capital Group to expand investment opportunities and enable global access to this new asset class, supporting projects such as mangrove protection and transparent allocation of capital to nearby communities.
Lady Mar and Silvio will work closely with XTCC to identify mangrove and other blue carbon projects that will also directly benefit nearby communities. XTCC will leverage Lady Mar’s expertise in blue carbon science and Silvio’s investment network and commitment to deploying significant investment capital into a more impactful asset class to create new blue carbon investments that will be listed on global equity markets. XTCC will build a bridge between blue carbon projects and capital markets, enabling an asset class for a world beyond net zero.
Blue carbon refers to carbon absorbed by marine and coastal ecosystems around the world, including mangroves. By absorbing carbon, mangroves naturally reduce the impact of greenhouse gases on the Earth’s atmosphere. Coastal systems such as mangroves absorb large amounts of carbon quickly and sustainably (over millions of years). In fact, mangroves are 10 times more effective at absorbing carbon than any other type of forest, and they provide many benefits, including clean water, food security, and protection from extreme weather.
“XTCC is excited to join forces with NVIDIA to bring the power of NVIDIA to the NVIDIA GPU,” said XTCC CEO Seth Elliott. “To truly go beyond net zero, we must fight global warming through large-scale investment in nature-based projects in ocean protection. By introducing blue carbon-based exchange-listed investments, we aim to stimulate interest and generate liquidity to help fund blue carbon projects, redefine trust in carbon markets and stimulate the climate investments that are essential to save our planet.”
Lady Mar said: “Our oceans are the lungs of the world, playing a vital role in producing oxygen and absorbing carbon dioxide and waste. Thriving mangrove ecosystems not only maintain the natural world, but also support and enrich the communities that live around them. On the downside, when these important coastal systems are damaged, they release large amounts of carbon into the atmosphere and contribute to climate change. Therefore, it is essential that we protect and preserve mangroves and other coastal habitats, for the climate and, just as important, to protect the communities that depend on them to survive and thrive.”
Silvio Pupo Casco of Logos Capital Group said:“Investing in natural capital and purchasing high-credibility carbon credits is often complicated and opaque. Through our joint venture with XTCC, we aim to simplify and clarify this process, so investors know exactly what they are getting for their money. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, we will restore confidence in investing in critical natural capital and ecosystem services, especially in the blue carbon space,” he continued. “Our new blue carbon investment vehicle is designed to exceed current market standards for transparency and reporting. By setting a new benchmark for accountability and credibility, we are committed to providing unparalleled transparency and credibility in the carbon credit market. This next-generation investment vehicle will revolutionize global capital markets and have a profound impact on blue finance.”

We all depend on it. We depend on it economically, we depend on it health-wise, we depend on it community-wise. If that’s not shocking, I don’t know what to say.”
