Kami Rita Sherpa, 54, first climbed Mount Everest in 1994 at the age of 24.
Nepali climber and guide Kami Rita Sherpa, popularly known as “Everest Man,” broke his own record on Sunday by climbing the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, for the 29th time. According to ANI, Sherpa set out on a spring Everest expedition from Kathmandu along with his 28 climbers.
Rita’s company, Seven Summit Treks, congratulated her on her 29th successful ascent of Everest. “Congratulations to Kami Rita Sherpa, Senior Guide of Seven Summit Treks, who successfully climbed Mt. Everest for the 29th time at 7:25 a.m. this morning. He earned the title of “Most Successful Person.” Kami Rita Sherpa, a native of Thame village in Solukhumbu, Nepal, works as a senior guide for Seven Summits Trekking and has dedicated her life to mountaineering, becoming synonymous with the world’s highest peaks. Born on January 17, 1970, he developed a deep passion for mountaineering from an early age and has been climbing mountains for over 20 years,” his X on the handle reads.

Who is Kami Rita Sherpa?
Born in Thame village in Solukhumbu, Nepal, Sherpa began his mountaineering journey in 1992, joining an expedition to Everest as a support staff member. Now 54 years old, he first climbed Mount Everest in 1994 at the age of 24.
In addition to Everest, Sherpas have conquered other notable mountains such as K2, Manaslu, Cho Oyu, and Lhotse. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Sherpa has climbed Mount Everest almost every year since his first ascent, and has now climbed 29 times in total.
He will reach the summit of Everest for the 27th time in 2023, tying the record with Pasand Dawa Sherpa. In May 2023, he reached the summit of Everest for the 28th time, surpassing the record tied with Dawa.
