Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week From May 7th to 9th, we’ll be featuring Staying Alive with a new and timely focus.
This phrase is more than a ’70s Bee Gees hit. This will remind local entrepreneurs and business people to remain resilient, be willing to adapt and persevere.
The three-day conference, hosted by Nexus Louisiana, will be held at a new location this year: Mid-City Tower. The historic Baton Rouge skyscraper on Florida Boulevard has been reimagined and underwent renovations starting in 2021 before he reopens in 2023 with a state-of-the-art lobby, office and retail space.
“If you need to answer a call, have a meeting, or go out, we have several rooms where you can work remotely,” said Natisha Nutt, director of community engagement and marketing for Nexus Louisiana. Masu. “We create an environment where people can stay informed, network, and have fun while getting work done.”

In addition to the new venue, Nexus Louisiana has made a few more adjustments to the conference. BREW plans to host additional morning meet-ups at local coffee shops before the session begins. This year’s session will be held on He One Stage and will include a diverse group of speakers with the ability to help executives develop time management skills, grow their companies, and make smarter decisions. Includes experts.
Some speakers include time management coaches Anna Dearman Cornick; social media strategist jordan basham; Quirk-E Creative Founder mamyhua kumson; Author and internationally recognized speaker Patty Dobrowolski; consultant, author, entrepreneur mike millan; and DisruptREADY CEO henry haze.
“The most important reason people come to BREW is change,” says Narcisse Burchell, Nexus Louisiana Program & Events Manager. “The changes they want to see in their city, and the changes in their businesses and themselves. There are a lot of opportunities for personal growth.”
Participants will have the opportunity to network before and after the session.

On May 9, the High Stakes Pitch Competition returns to BREW, where three Louisiana companies will compete as finalists for a $100,000 investment prize. This year’s winners will automatically advance to the Startup World Cup Grand Finale in Silicon Valley to compete for a chance to win an extra $1 million for their business.
“Winning on ParkZen’s high-stakes pitch was the first important step in getting our company to where we are today,” said 2022 contest winner Manos Chatsopoulos. “Thanks to the feedback, connections, and advice from the amazing people at Louisiana Technology Park, Innovation Catalyst, and the High Stakes Pitch judges, we were able to refine our business model.”
Whether you are a business owner, professional, freelancer or aspiring entrepreneur, Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week aims to be your hub for professional networking, business knowledge, resources and support.
“I often hear people say, ‘There’s nothing to do in Baton Rouge,’ even though there are events every weekend,” Nutt said. “I think it’s important for people to attend events like BREW so that they don’t disband. We’ve all been there: a place we used to go to that one day, it’s gone. Please give us your feedback so that we can continue to shape, develop, and improve even more each year.”
