Dear Editor,
We are extremely grateful for the generous support we received from the Lake Tahoe Education Foundation, Valhalla, Great Basin Institute, and Raley’s, who helped make our recent educational trip for South Tahoe High School’s 11th graders a memorable success.
Thanks to generous donations from renowned institutions such as Valhalla and Tallac Historic Sites and Larry’s Supermarket, our students had the fantastic opportunity to delve deeper into the rich history and cultural heritage of our area. A guided tour of a 1920s mansion, expertly organised by Great Basin Institute, provided a fascinating glimpse into a bygone era, stimulating the curiosity and enriching the minds of our young learners.
Moreover, the highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the opportunity for our students to travel back in time and experience first-hand the charm and vibrancy of the 1920s. Dancing and revelry filled the halls of Valhalla, creating an atmosphere of joy and friendship that will be cherished for years to come. Special thanks to Robin Rasmussen for teaching our students the cancan and Charleston and partying like it was 1925!
The unwavering support and generosity shown by these businesses and community organizations has not only enhanced our students’ educational experience, but also highlighted the importance of community engagement and collaboration in developing the next generation of leaders and thinkers. Whether in the form of donations or in-kind support, their contributions are making a real difference in the lives of our students, deepening their understanding of local history, culture and the world around them.
On behalf of the faculty, staff, and students of South Tahoe High School, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Valhalla, Great Basin Institute, Raley’s, and the Lake Tahoe Education Foundation for their support in this event. Your commitment to education and community enrichment is truly admirable, and we are extremely grateful for your help in fostering a brighter future for our local South Shore youth.
Sincerely,
