In the video going viral, Vishwas Kailash Saran can be seen sitting on the roof of his car and holding the Indian flag.
On Saturday, India defeated South Africa to lift the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy, their first victory in 17 years. Cricket fans took to the streets to celebrate the historic win. Among the many celebratory videos that went viral on social media platforms was one of Madhya Pradesh Minister Vishwas Kailash Saran sitting on the roof of a moving SUV while cheering on the Indian team.
In the video, Saran can be seen holding an Indian flag on top of a moving SUV. His aides can be seen standing on the steps of the SUV. What’s more, there is also a man on the roof of the car with a professional camera, presumably filming or recording the stunt. The sound of a dhol can also be heard in the video.

The video has been viewed over 1.79 million times on X. Many users condemned the minister for behaving in such a way. One user responded, “Is this minister playing games or creating drama? These people are just good at showing off.” Another user commented, “If ministers do this and ordinary people do it, what can we expect from ordinary people?”
“If this act had been committed by anyone else, an FIR would have been registered,” responded a third user.
India were set a target of 177 runs in the final and managed to restrict South Africa to 169/8 in 20 overs in a closely fought match. Jasprit Bumrah was declared ‘Player of the Series’, while Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma announced their retirement from T20 internationals immediately after the win.
