Following his high-profile clash with Kelly Rowland, a Cannes Film Festival security guard has made headlines again after shoving Dominican actor Maciel Taveras off the red carpet in a clash that has now gone viral, sparking outrage on social media.
In the viral video, Taveras can be seen wearing a white dress with a picture of Jesus Christ on the train, as the actress and model tries to fix her train while walking up a flight of stairs, but security guards block her and demand that she leave.
The video also shows Taveras becoming angry when a security guard won’t let her pose for the photo: When she reaches the top of the stairs and turns to wave, the guard grabs her by the shoulders and tries to get her to turn around, and when he gets too close, Taveras can be seen pushing her away.

The video, shared by X’s handle @PopCrave, has been viewed more than 23.2 million times, with several social media users condemning the guard’s actions. Reacting to the video, one user commented, “That guard is clearly misogynistic and anti-people of color. Calm down,” while another wrote, “The guard’s behavior is really weird.”
“Does this mean the Cannes Film Festival condones and approves this type of behavior from security guards, especially the same guards who did the same to Kelly Rowland?” a third user wrote.
On May 23, a video surfaced on social media of Kelly Rowland speaking sternly to the same security guard on the day of the Marcello Mio premiere. “The woman knows what happened. I know what happened. I have boundaries and I stick to them, and that’s it. There were other women on the carpet who didn’t look much like me, and they weren’t scolded or pushed or told to get off. I stood my ground and she felt like she had to stand her ground, but I stood my ground,” Rowland said. The Associated Press.
