Utah Valley University (UVU) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Seth Jenson as the new director of the Entrepreneurship Institute. Jenson will take over in January 2024 and has already made great strides in advancing UVU’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurial excellence.
With extensive experience in entrepreneurial strategy and innovation ecosystems, Jenson joins UVU from the prestigious University of Oxford, where he lectured and conducted groundbreaking research. His expertise and passion for community building, innovation, strategy, and experiential learning make him an invaluable asset to his Entrepreneurship Institute.
“We are thrilled to welcome Seth to Woodbury School of Business,” said Robert Allen, dean of Woodbury School of Business. “His arrival marks the beginning of a new chapter for us, and we look forward to strengthening our entrepreneurial foundation and furthering our commitment to empowering students for success.” It can be done.”
In his role, Jenson leads the development of an innovative portfolio of “Build-a-Business” programs for credit. In these courses, students work with industry experts from Utah County’s great entrepreneurial community to build real, revenue-generating businesses. In addition to courses focused on industries such as fashion, freelancing, and e-commerce, UVU is collaborating with his Sandbox, a university-centered incubator, to prepare students to launch the next generation of technology and software companies. I’m excited to coach.
“Our world is at an exciting moment of technological and social change,” Jenson said. “We are already passionate about putting students in the field and empowering them to lead industries and innovations around the world.” I am very excited to be part of the university’s legacy of providing a unique experience.”
In addition to Jenson, UVU is pleased to welcome Alessandra Camargo as the new coordinator of the Entrepreneurship Institute. With a diverse background in program design, financial management, and entrepreneurship, Camargo brings his unique blend of skills to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.
UVU’s Entrepreneurship Institute provides students with the resources, mentorship, and experiential learning opportunities they need to succeed in the competitive world of entrepreneurship. Under Jenson and Camargo’s leadership, the institute is poised to make a lasting impact on the entrepreneurial world in Utah and beyond.

In addition to the list of awards, Switch On Business recently ranked UVU as the No. 1 institution in the state for graduates launching startups. This recognition underscores UVU’s commitment to developing entrepreneurial talent and empowering students to succeed in their ventures. After graduation, start your own business. It’s no wonder that home-minded people are happy to stay local. A variety of factors make Utah one of the most favorable states for starting a business,” says Switch On Business analysis. .
“At UVU, we have always focused on providing our students not only with an education, but with the tools and support they need to succeed in the real world,” Jenson said. “This recognition reaffirms our dedication to preparing students for entrepreneurial success and making a meaningful impact in our communities.”
