The Entrepreneurship Education Network (EE-Net) was established in late 2013 by UNESCO and the Asia Pacific Programme on Education and Innovation for Development (UNESCO-APEID) to promote entrepreneurship education in the Asia Pacific region. Its mission is to engage policy makers, educators, researchers, entrepreneurs, students and communities to increase understanding and knowledge of entrepreneurship education through various platforms and activities.
EE-Net fosters discussion, coordinates research, disseminates best practices, recommends policies, and encourages collaboration. Despite recent challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, EE-Net remains committed to its mission.
For example, during the pandemic, only EE-Net’s China and Philippines chapters remained active. However, as activities gradually resumed and following the successful holding of the 2023 EE-Net Annual Conference at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China, interest in the network has increased significantly.
EE-Net is pleased to announce the recent establishment of nine new national chapters committed to revitalizing entrepreneurship education in their countries. The nine new national chapters, selected based on submitted proposals, are China (updated), Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Uzbekistan.
The establishment of these new national chapters marks a major step forward in EE-Net’s continued expansion and promises to foster regional collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation in entrepreneurial education.
According to the approval letter from the Education Sector of the UNESCO Regional Office in Bangkok, which serves as the EE-Net secretariat, the national chapter’s validity period will be for three years, from April 2024 to April 2027. National chapter status will be renewed depending on the country’s performance and effectiveness in carrying out EE-Net’s missions.
We congratulate all the countries involved in establishing these national chapters. Your dedication to entrepreneurial education is admirable, and we look forward to your impactful contributions to the EE-Net community.
Let’s continue building a vibrant and inclusive network that advances entrepreneurial education for a brighter future. Let’s make a difference together.
