Dorothy McAuliffe, U.S. Department of State Special Representative for Global Partnerships, PVBLIC Foundation, Cleantech HUB, and LCI Veritas de Costa Rica University, We launched the Coalition of Climate Entrepreneurs (CCE) hub in San José, Costa Rica.
of U.S. Department of State’s CCE Hub Latin America aims to tackle the global warming crisis and contribute to the economic empowerment of developing countries by establishing a dedicated climate hub on campus and fostering climate-focused entrepreneurship. It is a public-private partnership.
hub of Universidad LCI Veritas will join this network with additional hubs in Guatemala and Colombia. Two-year grants totaling $260,000 will support three locations funding entrepreneurs in Latin America. Equipped with tools to develop a green and sustainable business plan. Support for the Costa Rican hub totals approximately $80,000.
Dorothy McAuliffe, Special Representative of the U.S. Department of State, said: “Tackling the climate crisis has always been a top priority for the Biden-Harris Administration. Our office’s Climate Entrepreneurs Coalition will leverage millions in private sector funding to focus on sustainability. That’s why we support founders around the world.”
In addition to the on-campus maker space, the program’s online platform facilitates knowledge sharing within and between CCE hubs across the region. This digital infrastructure connects entrepreneurs and partners to collaborate on business development. We use digital technology for training, data collection, mentorship sessions, and startup impact and development reporting.
