Seven official Texas football visitors came to campus during the first big 2025 visit weekend of the summer, June 7-9. Last weekend was the weekend with the smallest group of official visitors of Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian’s three big visit weekends this summer.
Texas was originally scheduled to host six official visitors last weekend, most of whom were top defensive prospects in the class of 2025. But the late addition of four-star wide receiver Tanuk Hines from Spring (Tex.) DeKalb to the official visitor list brought Texas’ visitor count beyond six.
Sarkisian and his staff did not sign any freshmen from the Class of 2025 over the weekend, but with on-campus celebrations over the past few days, the Longhorns appeared to make a big impression on several visiting freshmen at key positions on defense.
It’s fair to say the Longhorns have at least a coin-toss chance of landing some of the official visitors who arrive in Austin over the weekend. I would imagine that at least one or two of the Longhorns’ official visitors in early June will end up joining this 2025 class by signing day in December.
Depending on the decision timeline of players who took official visits last weekend, the Texans could be looking at making first-round signings at several different position groups in the near future.
Here are two key official visitors to the 2025 class who committed to the Longhorns this past weekend.
