Two Bangladeshi women entrepreneurs named finalists for YBI’s prestigious Global Young Entrepreneur Award

Two Bangladeshi entrepreneurs, Zarin Tasnim, founder of Shonksil, and Wajiha Islam Tasen, co-founder of Sastya Sheba Limited, have been awarded the Global Social Entrepreneurship category by UK-based Youth Business International. Selected as a finalist for Young Entrepreneur of the Year. (YBI).

As part of that process, both entrepreneurs will participate in a five-day bootcamp hosted by Youth Business International (YBI) along with 30 other participants from around the world. The bootcamp will be held in London, England in June of this year.

This bootcamp is the first step in selecting the winners of this award, and we aim to provide unparalleled access to influential entrepreneurship experts and the opportunity to collaborate with international peers. i promise. At the end of the bootcamp, nine finalists will be selected to attend YBI’s Global Summit in Nairobi in October 2024, where one entrepreneur will be named YBI’s Global Young Entrepreneur of the Year. .

Getting selected as a finalist for the bootcamp was a difficult task. Out of more than 400 applicants, he is one of only 30 to earn a coveted spot in the boot camp, supported by her YBI member organizations around the world.

Bangladesh Youth Enterprise and Help Center (BYEAH), YBI’s only member organization representing Bangladesh, gave entrepreneurs the opportunity to apply for the bootcamp earlier this year. Her two selected female founders have received support from her BYEAH over the past few years through various incubation and mentoring programs.

BYEAH Chairman Manzoor Hasan, Prime Minister of the British Empire, said: “The selection of Zarin Tasnim and Wajiha Islam Tahseen as finalists reflects the extraordinary entrepreneurial spirit that lives within Bangladesh. Their journey “We are making a significant contribution.” We are proud of their accomplishments and optimistic about the impact they will continue to have on society. ”
