Centurion Corporation, which manages the workers’ dormitories including Westlite Mandai, told TODAY: tAn excursion for the workers was organized on April 28th. Sunday as a thank you The event was held for dormitory residents to coincide with Labor Day on May 1st.
“This is a place migrant workers would never have visited on their own (due to the entrance fee),” the company said.
“Our migrant workers work in harsh weather conditions and Singapore was hit by a scorching heat wave in April, so we thought this place would be perfect for them to spend the day in a cool place and enjoy unlimited ice cream.”
A total of 80 migrant workers were selected on a first-come, first-served basis to take part in the trip. Westlite Mandai dormitory is home to over 6,000 residents.
