The Arizona Cardinals have four of the five starting positions locked down on the offensive line. The guaranteed starters are LT Paris Johnson Jr., C Hjalte Froholt, RG Will Hernandez and RT Jonah Williams. The only open position on the offensive line is LG, where the 2023 free agent acquisition has started the majority of games.
The free agent acquired by the Arizona Cardinals last season played the majority of the season at left guard.

The Cardinals signed Elijah Wilkinson last offseason. Wilkinson was expected to secure the starting LG spot heading into the 2023 season. Unfortunately, he suffered a neck injury and missed seven games. He had 25 pressures, 18 hurries, four hits, three sacks and a PFF grade of 46.2.
The Cardinals re-signed him but didn’t expect him to be a starter going forward, so they decided to sign an offensive inside lineman to improve their competitive position.
The Arizona Cardinals signed the offensive lineman to a seven-year deal.

The Cardinals signed Evan Brown this offseason.
Brown is playing for his sixth team and entering his seventh season in the league. He has played in 57 games, started 40, and recorded over 70 appearances at LG, over 1,700 appearances at C, and over 700 appearances at RG. Hehe. He played in 16 games for the Seahawks in 2023, starting 16 of them as a C, allowing 27 pressures, 21 hurries, three hits and three sacks with a PFF grade of 55.5.
So far, he has impressed, taking an early lead and the team’s head coach has also been impressed with his performance.
Jonathan Gannon was impressed with Evan Brown

“His personality for football is great, he’s a guy that loves to practice and train,” Jonathan Gannon said. “He’s a very smart, strong guy, he can apply force on the ground and on opponents, so it’s cool to see that.”
Brown and Wilkinson aren’t the only candidates for the starting spot.
The Arizona Cardinals have plenty of other players competing for the starting spot.

Four other players will also be competing for the same starting spot, including Isaiah Adams, Carter O’Donnell, Tristan Colon and John Gaines II.
Adams is a third-round rookie who started 12 games at LG during his collegiate career at Illinois. O’Donnell is in his fifth year in the league on the second team and started three games at LG for the Cardinals in 2023. Colon is in his fifth year in the league on the third team and started four games at LG for the Cardinals in 2023. Finally, Gaines, a fourth-round pick in 2023, missed the 2023 season due to a knee injury.
Will Evan Brown win the starting left guard position?
