The 2014 Auburn football team is the stuff of legend. Unranked in the preseason, Auburn went 7-1 in November with impressive road wins over Tennessee and Arkansas before taking on No. 25 Georgia at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Trailing by one with 36 seconds left, the Tigers faced 4th-and-18 from their own 26-yard line. In one of the most unlikely moments in Auburn football history, quarterback Nick Marshall threw a 55-yard pass into triple coverage down the field that was tipped forward by wide receiver Ricardo Lewis for a 73-yard score that became the “Prayer at Jordan-Hare” and ultimately gave Auburn the victory.
A week later, Auburn shocked the college football world again with the play now known simply as “Kick Six.” As the launch of EA College Football 25 looms, news about the game’s features continues to come out, with reports coming out Wednesday that iconic moments from the past decade of college football will be playable, including the famous “Kick Six” from the 2014 Auburn University football season.
Kick Six: College Football’s Most Memorable Moments

The past decade has been full of iconic college football moments: Washington’s incredible late stop against Texas in last year’s College Football Playoff semifinals, Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa coming off the bench to lead the Crimson Tide to a championship in 2018, and Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel winning the Heisman Trophy after beating Alabama on the road in 2014. But perhaps none will surpass Auburn football’s “Kick Six” in 2014.
EA College Football 25 has a feature called “In Case You Missed It,” which lets you replay iconic CFB moments you may have missed from the past decade.

With a spot in the SEC Championship on the line, the Auburn Tigers took on the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide in the season finale. Led by the combination of quarterback AJ McCarron and wide receiver Amari Cooper, Alabama entered the game on a perfect 11-0 run. Alabama led in the second and fourth quarters, with Auburn scoring in each quarter. Auburn tied the game at 28-28 on a touchdown pass from Nick Marshall to Sammie Coates with 32 seconds left in the game, but…
Alabama quickly drove down to the Tigers’ 38-yard line, and after a foul by Alabama coach Nick Saban and icing of the kicker by Auburn coach Gus Malzahn, the Crimson Tide set up a 57-yard walk-off field goal attempt by freshman Adam Griffith over the head of a struggling Cade Foster.
The rest is history. Griffith’s field goal fell short, and with Auburn’s Chris Davis waiting in the back of the end zone in case the ball missed the goalpost, the speedster returned the kick 109 yards for what became the most important play in college football history. Davis’ play set off a domino effect: the Auburn football team beat arch-rival Alabama to earn a spot in the SEC Championship and, ultimately, the BCS National Championship. It’s one thing to win the final game of the regular season and have major implications for the postseason, but it’s another to beat your biggest rival on the biggest stage with a 109-yard field goal return.
EA College Football 25: Releasing next week
EA College Football 25 makes its highly anticipated release next week. After a hiatus of over a decade, college football video games are making a comeback this year, with many fans eager to return to the virtual gridiron. According to College Football Report on Twitter, Auburn University football fans will get the chance to relive the 2014 season in the form of “Kick Six.”
Other iconic college football moments that will reportedly be playable in EA College Football 25 include UCF’s perfect season in 2017 and Alabama’s victory over Clemson to reclaim the title.
