Unfortunately for CBS, that was just a one-year thing. Wharton is widely known as one of the best research schools on the planet. Mr. FT In the 2024 world rankings, it not only edged out Columbia University for the top overall spot, but also removed Harvard from the top of the research rankings. Columbia University fell in this ranking overall, coming in at number 4 on the list of best programs in business studies, while Chicago Booth School of Business, which ranked fourth in its field of study, moved up to number two. The Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Business was surprisingly ranked 3rd in last year’s No. Research (up from 9th place the previous year), but fell to 6th place, one place behind the Texas Dallas Jindal School of Management.

Although the Jindal School has been a success; F.T. The school has moved up from 6th place last year and 10th place the year before, and its heavy investment in research is further promoted by two unique rankings for schools in North America and the world that it publishes in tandem each year. . And in both, Wharton was once again in the news, ranking No. 1 by far all the way.

No research slouches here.

Wharton’s research abilities are legendary in higher education circles. Her B-School at the University of Pennsylvania is home to more than 20 of her research centers and initiatives in everything from analysis to public policy to social impact. Its scholarships create new courses, programs, and partnerships between academia, industry, and government, all helping to address pressing global business challenges.

The two rankings, published annually by UT-Dallas, are constructed differently and are instead based on the school’s number of publications in 24 journals over a five-year period. And once again, one school dominates on this metric. In the most recent period from 2019 to her 2023 (last year’s rankings were his 2018 to 2022, the year before that was her 2017 to 2021, etc.), the Wharton School produced an astonishing 392 papers. has been published. , a slight decrease from the ranking of 396 published in 2023, but the ranking itself increased from 380 articles in 2022, 353 articles in 2021, and 323 articles in 2020.

The No. 2 school in both the North American and World rankings is UT-Dallas itself, as it was last year, with an increase of 297 papers from 275. UT-Dallas provides the tools to study research articles published in leading business journals. This database contains author information for all studies published since 1990. This ranking addresses the author’s shared problem by giving each school a score of: part numberwhere p is the number of authors from the same school, and the total is n Author of the article.

If an author lists multiple schools, each school the author is affiliated with will receive a corresponding scale score. For example, if either: n Authors list m affiliations, and each school the author is affiliated with is given a score of 1 point. 1/nm.
