Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology was unable to get out of a tough situation on Tuesday, as the team suffered its fourth straight loss. They suffered a 14-7 loss to the Edison Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder of the 10-9 loss suffered by Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology in their previous matchup in March.

Despite the final result, Alana Watkins made the most of her time at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and a stolen base. Another player who made a difference was Vivian Monaco, who went 1-for-4 and scored one run.

Although they lost, Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology did not let batters stay at the plate for long and finished the game with 11 strikeouts. They easily outperformed their opponents in that department, as Edison only threw six.

On Edison’s side, Caitlin Lankford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it’s easy to see why. She gave up 4 earned runs (3 earned) on 6 hits and earned 6 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jazmin Roberson, who went 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBIs, and three RBIs. Audrey Higgins also played a major role, going 3-for-4 and scoring two runs.

Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology’s loss dropped their record to 1 win and 7 losses. As for Edison, this victory improves their record to 7 wins and 1 loss, making it their sixth straight home win since last season.

Coincidentally, both teams will play Mount Vernon the next time they take the field. Edison is scheduled to host Mount Vernon on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
