Known as an influential internet presence, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra continues to wow us with his social media posts. He often shares engaging and inspiring stories, videos, and pictures that pique the interest of his 11.2 million followers. This time, the industrialist reacted to an old post by Bharat Agri Founder and CEO Siddharth Dyarani, who shared the story of a bestselling product. In the post, Mahindra called Dyarani’s post an “example of how entrepreneurial opportunities arise” and praised entrepreneurs for listening to the needs of their customers.
In April, Diarani posted about how the hands-free flashlight became the best-selling item in its category on the platform. He said his team observed a steady growth in flashlight sales on the BharatAgri platform. The unexpected spike in orders surprised the team as flashlights are not an agricultural product. When the team spoke to farmers, they found out they needed the flashlights to work at night during power outages. “Our team stepped forward and asked how else BharatAgri could help. Farmers suggested they wanted a hands-free flashlight so they could keep both hands free while working on the fields,” Diarani wrote.
Diarani said he used this feedback to develop a “mining torch” that can be worn around the forehead. “The mining torch has become our best-selling product in the segment!” he revealed.
In response, Mahindra praised Diarani for listening to customer feedback, acting on it and further innovating. “This is a living example of how entrepreneurial opportunities arise,” Mahindra wrote in response to Diarani’s X post.

In a tweet, the businessman admitted that despite his years in the agribusiness, he had no idea about this requirement. “We must keep our ears open and look for signs that needs are changing,” he said. “And help complete the continuum from customer pain points to expressed needs to improved products that fit those requirements,” he added.
“Despite our long history in the agribusiness sector, I must admit that I was completely unaware of this requirement,” he wrote.
Mahindra concluded by saying that while artificial intelligence (AI) may help spot patterns in consumer behavior, the rules of entrepreneurship remain the same. “Well done, Siddharth!” he wrote.
Mahindra shared the post a few hours ago, and since then it has garnered over 63,000 views and hundreds of likes and comments.
