This is the same percentage as last year. The richest woman in the world is once again Françoise Betancourt Meyers, heiress to the French L’Oréal fortune. Her worth is estimated at $99.5 billion.
There is an even rarer group of women who are billionaires. It’s a woman who made her ten-figure fortune on her own. These “self-made” billionaires make up just 3.6% of the list, including Spanx founder Sarah Blakely and her ABC Supply co-founder Diane Hendricks. Including entrepreneurs. And our wealth team points out that there is a bit of good news, albeit a small one. “There are more self-made female billionaires this year than ever before, almost four times as many as ten years ago.”
cheers!
