A week after two five-star defensive linemen decommitted from USC, the Trojans are in desperate need of some good news on the recruiting trail.
And they might get it soon: Late Saturday night, WeAreSC.com recruiting editor Scott Schroeder recorded experts’ predictions that Lincoln Riley and company would convert the four-star safety commitment from UCF. Kendarius Reddick Away from the knights.
The 5-foot-11, 170-pound player committed to UCF in February, transferring from Auburn University, where he had committed in October 2023.
According to the On3 industry rankings, a weighted average utilizing all four major recruiting media companies, Redick is the No. 118 overall prospect and No. 13 safety in the 2025 class.
But On3 rates him higher than the other three rating services, ranking him as the No. 76 recruit and No. 6 safety in the country in the latest On300 rankings.
Reddick played his first three seasons of varsity high school football at Georgia powerhouse Thomas County Central, where he recorded 157 tackles, five interceptions, five tackles for loss and two sacks.
Trojans retain five-star QB commitment and look to add more talent to class
If USC is successful in pulling off the upset, Redick would become the Trojans’ 12th commitment of the cycle, after they entered this week ranked in the top five nationally in the On3 Industry team recruiting rankings.
And they were one of just three programs to have multiple five-star pledges. But Georgia natives Justus Terry and Isaiah Gibson, who had committed to the program since late March, have both backed out and are now expected to join their hometown Georgia Bulldogs.
Quarterback from the Peach State Julian Lewisis currently the only five-star player in Troy’s class, and Troy has big battles coming up against Auburn and Colorado (both schools he visited earlier this month) to keep him in the class.
Lewis committed to the Trojans in August and kicked off USC’s 2026 freshman recruiting class. The elite playmaker reclassified to 2025 this winter and is ranked 10th in the country and No. 2 among quarterbacks. On3 Industry Rankings.
As long as he’s still on the team, the Trojans are sitting outside the top 10 nationally, and adding a prospect like Redick to the roster could put them back in the top 10 in no time.
