The LSU football team has offered the No. 3 cornerback in the state of Louisiana, and he is in the running to be acquired.

Brian Kelly and the Louisiana State University football staff have extended an offer to one of the top cornerbacks in the state of Louisiana after Ruston, Louisiana star Aidan Anding received a call on Friday night.

Anding, the No. 3 ranked cornerback in the Bayou State, had been on LSU’s radar in recent months with recruiting guru Frank Wilson calling on him.

The Tigers’ lack of talent at defensive back in the 2025 class has come up after Louisiana State passed on Louisiana’s No. 1 cornerback, Javoree Antoine, earlier this week.

Now, LSU has reached out to Anding and offered him a scholarship, but is it too late?

The 5-foot-11, 160-pound player was scheduled to announce his college choice this weekend, but has now postponed his decision date, sources told LSU Country.

One of the Bayou State’s top athletes, Anding has earned all-state honors in football, basketball and track and field. A true phenom, LSU is stepping up its push with high hopes for another SEC program.

The Texas Longhorns were riding high heading into the weekend with Steve Sarkisian and company firmly in the lead to secure an Anding, but now the hometown team is stepping up their efforts.

LSU Country will likely record its prediction that the Tigers will win for Anding once the dust settles on the Tigers’ efforts to get Anding on campus this summer.

We’ve already seen On3 Sports scouting expert Billy Embody make favorable predictions for Louisiana State as they look to lock down the Louisiana star.

The LSU staff will hold its annual Bayou Splash recruiting event in late July, and the Tigers hope to lure Anding to LSU along with some of the nation’s top prospects.

As it stands, LSU is out of contract with Javoree Antoine, but the team is going to turn up the heat down the stretch to get him back, and while he’s an unsigned player at this stage, the hope remains that the Tigers will eventually land a deal before the early signing period in December.

Kelly and the team will be looking to rebuild their secondary in the coming months as they currently have zero cornerbacks available, but with Anding and Antoine in favorable positions, securing their services will be key in the coming weeks.

LSU is also actively pursuing the No. 1 cornerback in the country. DJ Pickett.

Pickett, ranked as the top defensive back in the 2025 class, took his official visit to LSU in early June ahead of a busy summer traveling around the country.

LSU has the opportunity to get first dibs on the five-star phenom and will continue to turn up the heat with rumors that he may have an earlier commitment date as opposed to the original plan for late fall.

Secondary coach Corey Raymond has a lot of work to do, but with three known names in Anding, Antoine and Pickett at this stage, plus more reinforcements sure to be made behind the scenes, he should be looking to put together a great showing for the 2025 class if all goes well.

LSU Country will bring you the latest on LSU’s freshman recruiting class of 2025. The sooner we know, the sooner we can expect some dominoes to fall.
