A free workshop for entrepreneurs, “From Idea to Startup,” will be held July 22-23 at the Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center.
Registration is now open for the two-day event, which aims to provide training and networking opportunities and will cover a range of topics related to entrepreneurship.
Sessions will cover practical aspects like validating an idea and raising funding for a startup, as well as provide a personal look into the startup journey through presentations by academic researchers-founders about their journey, lessons learned and mistakes made.
Some sessions of this workshop will be highly interactive and hands-on: in addition to learning about entrepreneurship, you will also leave with tangible deliverables such as a draft innovation statement and business model canvas.
Attendance at the entire workshop is highly encouraged, as content will differ significantly between days 1 and 2. A detailed agenda will be emailed to registrants prior to the event.
This workshop is open to all University of Nebraska faculty, postdocs, students and community partners. The workshop will be especially useful for startups based on the university’s intellectual property, although you do not need to have a current startup idea or IP to participate.
A light breakfast and lunch will be provided each day, and the event will conclude with happy hour. Registration closes on July 12th at 5pm.
