The video, which is currently going viral, was shared by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (IICR) artist Purnata Mohanty on Instagram. While Mohanty wore a stunning grey-pink patta saree in his Odissi look, the other woman wore a purplish-gold saree from Bharatanatyam. The duo performs the adav portion of the song.

While sharing a video, Mohanty said, “The Sakal ban has its origins in poet Amir Khusro’s devotion to his teacher and guru Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya, and after experiencing a personal loss, his Driven by a quest to uplift the world, Khusro embraced the Hindu tradition of wearing yellow and offering rape blossoms to the gods. He inspired Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya’s beaming smile as he performed a heartfelt rendition of ‘Sakal Ban’ garnished with mustard flowers. ”

Social media users praised the duo’s performance, and the video garnered over 374,000 views on the platform. Reacting to this, a user commented, “Born from Tandav, he is so happy to witness two different dance forms – Odissi and Bharatanatyam.” Another user said, “What’s great about the music in this series.
