Good news for those of you who’ve been wondering for the last year whether or not Carmy has made it out of that damn freezer. bear is finally back with its third season. The long-awaited new 10 episodes of one of TV’s most acclaimed drama comedies debuted last Wednesday night (June 26th). According to domestic streaming service Hulu, it was viewed 5.4 million times in the four days after its release, setting a new record for the show’s highest opening audience in history. And just like the first two seasons, the show is packed with plenty of memorable needle drops, with notable ’90s alternative rock veterans seeing particularly strong streaming increases this week.
Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder is the biggest bear His cover of “Save It for Later” is a new song, but it’s a solo cover by him. “Save It for Later” premiered alongside the new season on Wednesday, and from Thursday to Friday, official on-demand U.S. streams nearly doubled (from 39,000 to 73,000, according to Luminate). That’s because more people tuned in to this season, where the song features multiple times (most notably at the beginning of episode 2, “Next”). From Thursday to Sunday, it racked up 234,000 total streams, more than double the number of views of the beat’s original ( bear Season) also saw notable growth, with streaming numbers from Friday to Sunday (a total of 116,000) up 37% compared to the same period last week. BillboardFollowing the release of Vedder’s cover, the song reached number one on the LyricFind US charts and saw a 3,668% increase in lyric searches since its debut.
Nine Inch Nails also featured on several tracks throughout the season, most notably the instrumental “Together,” featured prominently in the season premiere, “Tomorrow,” which saw a staggering 1,477% increase in streams from Friday to Sunday, up from just over 2,000 during the same period last week to 35,000. During the same period, Radiohead’s featured track “(Nice Dream)” grew 42% to 58,000, with Refused (Recurring) seeing a similar increase. bear The classic “New Noise” increased 31% to 46,000 copies, and it wasn’t all ’90s classics: Big Thief frontwoman Adrianne Lenker’s younger-generation hit “No Machine” grew 73% to 33,000 copies. Dominic Fike’s “Miss” becomes a TikTok and streaming hit

The upbeat soul-rock track has been featured in TikTok posts by Kylie Jenner and The Kid Laroi in recent weeks, while Fike has incorporated it into his setlists at festivals like Bonnaroo and Governors Ball. As a result, “Misses” has grown steadily on streaming services throughout June, reaching 4.41 million official on-demand streams in the U.S. for the chart week ending June 27, after garnering 2.35 million streams in the week ending June 6, according to Luminate, a roughly 88% increase over three weeks. Fike debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 last year for the first time as a lead artist with “Mona Lisa,” which peaked at No. 89. Thank goodness for Rihanna: The pop legend’s video goes viral, and GloRilla’s new single is a huge hit
2024 has already been a big one for Memphis rapper Glorilla. She’s already had two Top 40 hits on the Hot 100: “Yeah Glo!” and her Megan Thee Stallion collaboration “Wanna Be.” Glo’s new single, “TGIF,” hasn’t joined them yet. The weekend anthem debuted at No. 46 on the Hot 100 last week. But she’ll probably get there soon after earning an unforgettable tribute from someone who knows the top of the charts better than any artist this century: Rihanna.
On June 28, Rihanna posted a video of herself rapping and singing along to the song in a low-pitched voice. Her partner, A$AP Rocky, looked on with his hands on his hips like a chastising teacher, and at the end of the video commented, “I’m getting too old for this.” (Rihanna laughed in response.) The couple’s fun video was captioned “Happy Friday,” and the song instantly became a big hit. “TGIF” racked up nearly 4.5 million combined official on-demand streams in the U.S. over the following two days, according to Luminate, up from just 2.4 million the weekend before. Will the Celine Dion documentary help the former ‘AGT’ contestant become a star?
Last month, I Morning: Celine Diona documentary capturing the pop superstar’s life and career (and her ongoing battle with “stiff person syndrome”), premiered on Amazon Prime Video after a limited theatrical release. During its streaming premiere on June 25, millions of viewers were able to marvel at Dion’s personal and professional accomplishments while also discovering “Who I Am,” an uplifting piano ballad by singer-songwriter Win Starks that serves as an inspiring anthem in the documentary.
Starks, a Minneapolis native, released “Who I Am” in 2020. America’s Got Talent In 2022, the song’s moving vocals moved judge Sofia Vergara to tears. Now signed to Curve Records, Starks has once again earned a high-profile platform with “Who I Am,” and it’s paid off. According to Luminate, the song garnered 101,000 official U.S. on-demand streams in the three days between June 28-30, compared to just a fraction of that (14,000) in the same three-day period the week before. Starks released a new single, “Run,” earlier this year, but the success of the documentary may encourage the singer-songwriter and his team to promote “Who I Am” again. JL
