Cybersecurity threats are more persistent and sophisticated than ever before. Despite significant investments in security measures, organizations and individuals alike struggle to effectively address the daunting task of protecting themselves against malicious attacks. The threat landscape is becoming increasingly complex, calling for innovative solutions that provide comprehensive, real-time threat intelligence. Interlock’s latest product, ThreatSlayer, aims to address these challenges head-on by leveraging the power of Web3 technology and a global community of users.

Current Threat Landscape

As the technology ecosystem continues to expand, so does the cyber threat surface. Phishing attacks, malicious URLs, and social engineering tactics have become common tools for cybercriminals.

Traditional security measures are often unable to keep up with evolving threats, resulting in significant financial and reputational damage, making continuous, real-time threat intelligence more important than ever to stay ahead of new risks.

Introducing ThreatSlayer

ThreatSlayer by Interlock is an innovative Web3 security browser extension designed to provide powerful protection against malicious URLs and phishing attacks. Powered by AI and blockchain technology, ThreatSlayer offers a unique approach to internet security that sets it apart from traditional solutions.

Key Features and Technologies

Real-time analytics and AI integration: ThreatSlayer uses advanced AI algorithms to analyze links in real time, identifying and blocking malicious URLs before they can do any damage. This proactive approach protects users from threats as they browse the web, whether they click on links in emails, ads, or search results.

Blockchain-based security: By integrating blockchain technology, Interlock encourages users to participate in the security process. The $ILOCK utility coin rewards users for sharing anonymized security data, creating a decentralized and robust threat intelligence network. This innovative use of blockchain not only enhances security but also encourages community engagement.

Octahedron: The Menacing Mind Slayer: Octahedron is an AI-driven threat detection tool that is continually updating and improving its threat detection capabilities. Trained with extensive data on known scams, phishing links, and malware, Octahedron is designed to identify potential threats and adapt to new threats, providing comprehensive protection for users.

Community engagement and crowdsourced information

One of ThreatSlayer’s distinguishing features is its focus on community engagement and crowdsourced intelligence. Interlock has built a global user community with over 29,000 active participants each week who contribute to the platform’s security database. By sharing anonymized threat data, users play an active role in strengthening the collective security of their networks.

Incentivized Participation: Through $ILOCK coin, users are rewarded for contributing to the threat intelligence network, which not only motivates participation but also ensures a continuous supply of up-to-date security data. This incentive model fosters a virtuous cycle of data sharing and threat detection, strengthening the overall effectiveness of ThreatSlayer.

User-friendly experience: ThreatSlayer is designed to be unobtrusive and easy to use. Once installed, it works quietly in the background to provide seamless protection without interrupting the user experience. Users can choose to interact with the extension and track its contributions to security, but also have the option to let it run passively.

Interlock Vision

We spoke with Rick Deacon, Founder and CEO of Interlock, about the launch of ThreatSlayer and his vision for the company’s future. He said that Interlock is on a mission to solve traditional Web2 security problems with innovative Web3 solutions.

The release of ThreatSlayer marks an important step towards achieving this goal, according to Deacon, and Interlock has a strong roadmap for the future, with plans to expand its offerings, including an enterprise version of the product and integrations beyond the browser extension.

“The whole idea behind Interlock is to stop phishing. We stop threats where they can be accessed – inside the web browser, where the context is,” Deacon explained.

He added, “Your browser is encrypted from the OS, so they can’t even communicate directly. There’s a layer of encryption between the two, isolating the browser from the OS itself. This means that typical EDR tools or on-device tools that block malicious downloads or malicious files don’t have access to your web browser, the URLs you’re visiting, etc.”

Deacon emphasized that this is why Interlock is designed to stay in the browser: “You need to give it context and be able to read on the fly what’s going on. That’s why we chose the browser rather than an agent or anything like that.”

Changing the Threat Intelligence Game

Interlock’s ThreatSlayer represents a new era in cybersecurity, combining the strength of AI and blockchain technology with the power of community engagement. By delivering real-time threat intelligence and encouraging user participation, ThreatSlayer offers a uniquely effective solution to the persistent challenges of the digital threat environment.
