Top decliners included Ashapura Minechem Ltd. (down 4.77%), Lexus Granito (India) Ltd. (down 3.94%), Oriental Trimex Ltd. (down 3.93%), 20 Microns Ltd. (down 3.51%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd. (down 3.30%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd. (down 2.86%), NMDC Ltd. (down 2.84%), MOIL Ltd. (down 2.62%), KIOCL Ltd. (down 2.49%) and The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd. (down 2.41%).
At around 11:10 am, the NSE Nifty50 index was trading at 24,210.9, down 222.3 points, while the 30-stock BSE Sensex was trading at 79,607.85, down 743.79 points.
Britannia Industries (up 1.04 per cent), Divis Laboratories (up 0.68 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India (up 0.6 per cent), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises (up 0.47 per cent), Titan Company (up 0.47 per cent), Asian Paints (up 0.45 per cent), SBI Life Insurance (up 0.42 per cent), Grasim Industries (up 0.24 per cent) and Bajaj Finance (up 0.17 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty index.
On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra (down 6.73%), HCL Technologies (down 2.42%), Shriram Finance (down 2.27%), Hindalco Industries (down 1.96%), Tata Steel (down 1.87%), Hero MotoCorp (down 1.67%), UltraTech Cement (down 1.58%), Tata Motors (down 1.55%), JSW Steel (down 1.41%) and Reliance Industries (down 1.36%) were among the decliners.
