Raleigh-Durham Startup Week moved to downtown Raleigh on Thursday for a full day of workshops, keynotes and special events.
The Big Ideas Raleigh Meetup, hosted by the City of Raleigh’s Office of Strategic Innovation, introduced the agency to the startup community and presented the City of Raleigh’s strategic plan. A diverse mix of community members, startups, and local businesses came together to share ideas for city initiatives and explore innovative solutions to Raleigh’s most pressing challenges.

One of the highlights of the day was a Q&A and keynote address with Allen Mask, investment partner at global growth equity firm WestCap. Musk shared lessons learned from his experience working in marketing, partnerships, and research and development for companies such as Sonos, and he also worked as head of product marketing for Airbnb.
Workshops were also held throughout the day at Raleigh Founded’s North Street store.

Topics ranged from how to get your first 100 customers, to how to build a high-performing team, to how to scale your business to over $100 million.
The final day of Raleigh Durham Startup Week will be held on Friday, April 11th at the Raleigh Founded offices in Raleigh. Sessions begin in the afternoon and cover the basics of a good investor pitch, the inner workings of high-growth startups, and how to properly engage with investors.
