A government-backed investment fund that provides seed capital to science and technology startups and small and medium-sized enterprises. A total of £8 million will be allocated.
The agency said investment amounts typically range from £100,000 to £500,000 and the fund will be managed by Future Planet Capital.

The Space Portfolio Initiative is designed to target the funding gaps that early-stage space companies may face.

The brief is to invest in innovation that comes from the UK’s publicly funded science and knowledge base.
The Fund is supported by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the Ministry of Defense (MOD), the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), the UK Atomic Energy Agency (UKAEA) and other public authorities.
