Last week, 2K Foundations partnered with WNBA champion Ariel Atkins, her foundation, the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington and The Youth Entrepreneur Institute to announce a new entrepreneurship and apparel production program for DC-area youth that will feature STE(A)M workshops and guest speaker sessions.
“We’re excited to partner with 2K Foundations to bring our entrepreneurship and apparel production program to life,” said Atkins. “This is a huge opportunity for the next generation to tap into their entrepreneurial spirit, develop business development skills and nurture their creativity, so it’s fantastic to be able to make this happen for our younger generations.”
The six-week summer course is designed to foster creative business development and will culminate with a pitch event on July 12 at KidBizCON in Washington, D.C., where participants will present their ideas to a panel of high-level judges, including Atkins. The winners will receive a grant to bring their ideas to fruition.
The program’s mission is to ignite dreams, build futures, and directly invest in the potential of underserved communities through a fun and rewarding journey from business idea conception to selling in the marketplace.
