Sony returns to Licensing Expo 2024 to showcase classic and trending titles

Sony Pictures Consumer Products At this year’s Licensing Expo, Sony showcased a diverse portfolio of assets that combines timeless and enduring classics with brand new content. Sony’s vast collection of IP on display at Licensing Expo 2024 includes timeless classics such as Ghostbusters and The Karate Kid, which will celebrate their 40th anniversary in 2024, as well as a number of modern-day standouts, including The Boys, Cobra Kai, Gen V, The Last of Us, Goosebumps and Twisted Metal.

As part of its booth presence at Licensing Expo 2024, Sony Pictures has reintroduced a 15-foot video wall with cutting-edge interactive displays within its booth, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in popular brands such as Ghostbusters and The Karate Kid.

“Licensing Expo 2024 comes at a time in Sony Pictures history when we are simultaneously announcing new titles to some of our most iconic franchises (Ghostbusters, The Karate Kid), unveiling modern versions of timeless properties (Cobra Kai), and unveiling a slate of new IP that will captivate an entirely new generation of fans,” said John F. Jamie Stevens, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Consumer Products, Sony Pictures Entertainment“By working closely with like-minded licensees, regardless of audience content preferences, we aim to elevate beloved properties and ensure each product and experience reflects the true essence of the stories and characters that fans cherish.”

In 2024, Sony Pictures Consumer Products will continue to deliver authentic and meaningful collaborations to create unforgettable experiences for fans.

Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Motion Picture Group announced a series of new products and unique collaborations to coincide with the theatrical release of “Star Wars: Episode I: The Last Jedi” in March. Ghostbusters: Frozen EmpireA robust consumer products program, anchored by key licensees such as Hasbro, Funko, Timberland and Kellogg’s, is designed to cross generational boundaries and resonate with fans of all ages and interests.

The momentum continues into fall, when fans can dress up as their favorite Ghostbusters characters for Halloween with a lineup of costumes and accessories provided by Disguise (the costume division of JAKKS Pacific), Spirit Halloween and Fun.com.

Following the success of the theatre Ghostbusters: Frozen EmpireGhostbusters is set to expand the iconic franchise with an upcoming animated series from Sony Pictures Animation, currently in development with Netflix.

As we enter the exciting year of 2025, Sony Pictures Entertainment is announcing two highly anticipated films: a new installment of the original Karate Kid series will hit theaters on May 30, 2025, and Sony Pictures/Studiocanal’s Paddington in Peru will be released on January 17, 2025.

Sony Pictures Television will be returning with the highly anticipated return of The Boys season 4 on Prime Video on June 13, 2024.

The highly anticipated sixth and final season of Cobra Kai will arrive on Netflix later this year, bringing to a close a chapter in the epic karate journey. Cobra Kai The 15-episode series will be split into three parts: Part 1 will be available on Netflix on July 18, Part 2 on November 28, and the finale in 2025.

Sony Pictures Television is set to welcome several new adult animated titles to its TV IP lineup, including the upcoming first season of The Hunger Games. Universal Basic Guys As part of Fox’s Sunday night Anime Domination lineup, Sausage Party: Foodtopia It will premiere on Prime Video on July 11th.

A new YouTube channel featuring Netflix’s hit preschool series, “The Creature Cases,” will premiere short-form content every week, and toy partner PMI will launch an exciting new toy line in Spring 2025, including vehicles, figures and playsets.

Looking ahead to the upcoming second season, SPCP is announcing expanded licensing programs for Goosebumps on Disney+ and Hulu, The Last of Us on Max, Twisted Metal on Peacock and Gen V on Prime Video.

The release of The Boys Season 4 will coincide with an extensive consumer products program with more than 1,000 products from 30 licensing partners. More details on the program are available below.

If you’re looking for a unique keepsake, Mattel’s Fisher-Price Little People collector’s set is available now.

Fans can also purchase collectibles from Funko and You Tooz, as well as action figures from Medicom. Additional Blitzway and Prime 1 products are scheduled to be released in Fall 2024.

Fans of the series can live the superhero lifestyle 24/7 with apparel from Mad Engine and Ripple Junction and costumes from Fun.com.

Fans looking for action-packed fun off the screen can try their hand at The Boys’ Hasbro/Winning Moves licensed Monopoly game (available fall 2024) and Upper Deck card games.

· Video game enthusiasts can try out new interactive integrations when Homelander appears in Mortal Kombat 1 from Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios in June.

· Licensed merchandise is also available from Pyramid International and Fashion UK.

· In terms of apparel, fans can purchase The Boys apparel at international retailers Primark (UK), HMV and The Souled Store (India). · A dedicated Amazon retail store for The Boys sells licensed apparel, accessories, collectibles and more.
