The son of a Dominican politician was shot to death outside a Houston gas station Monday night in what police said was an apparent “targeted” drive-by shooting.
Houston police on Wednesday identified the man The man killed was Luis Alfredo Pacheco Rojas, 34, the son of Alfredo Pacheco, the speaker of the Dominican House of Representatives. The identity of another 29-year-old man who was shot and injured in the attack has not yet been released.
The incident began around 7 p.m. Monday, when Pacheco and three men in a black Cadillac Escalade stopped at a gas station in southeast Houston, authorities said.
The four entered the gas station and returned to the Escalade shortly after.

Detectives are investigating the motive for the shooting, the police department said. Authorities are also searching for the four gunmen who fled the gas station after the shooting. Chief Rodriguez described them as Hispanic men in their 20s or 30s.
Law enforcement officials on Tuesday released photos of the gunmen from surveillance footage.
