Donald Trump and his campaign have begun requesting paperwork from several of his running mates, The Associated Press reported this week.
Speculation has been building over who President Trump will choose as his running mate, with numerous names floated for months, but many of the recent additions and removals to the list have raised some eyebrows.
Among those nominated are North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott. Florida Rep. Byron Donald and New York Rep. Elise Stefanik are also said to be on the list, along with former Trump rival and now-ally Ben Carson.

“The two weirdest things on this list to me are Ben Carson,” Levy explains. “I mean, who the hell is yelling at Ben Carson to do anything? I don’t think he’s going to be selected, but the fact that they’re vetting him seems weird to me.”
And the other one? “I don’t understand where Doug Burgum is coming from. Did anyone outside of North Dakota know about this guy before he started his presidential campaign with less than 1% approval rating? I don’t think so. Burgmania didn’t happen. But I see him out there all the time, like a Trump surrogate, and now he’s on this list. How did this happen?”
