Indian business leaders in Singapore have revealed the reasons behind their decision to move back to Bangalore. Aakash Dharmadhikari, co-founder of AI platform RealFast, cited how good life was for his family in Singapore as one of the reasons for his decision to move back to his home country.

An Indian man reveals why he moved back to Bangalore from Singapore.

In a post on social media platform “X”, Dharmadhikari said he and his wife hope their daughter will get used to the “uncertainties of life” that were unimaginable for her living in Singapore.

“I am moving to Bangalore to help my daughter get used to the uncertainties of life. I felt Singapore was too perfect and making her weak,” he wrote.

But after seven years in Singapore, it seems Dharmadhikari has also forgotten what life is like in India. “Unfortunately, we too have forgotten what chaos feels like in India. I guess we have become weaker,” he added at the end of the post, adding a smiling face emoji.

Check out these posts:

Aakash Dharmadhikari began his career as a software engineer at Infosys in 2005, according to his LinkedIn profile. Over the course of almost two decades, he has moved between several jobs. He spent the early part of his career in India’s Silicon Valley, Bangalore.

However, according to their LinkedIn profiles, the Realfast co-founders have been based in Singapore since September 2017.

In the comments section of X’s post, several people offered advice about returning to India, with some saying they understood the decision given the loneliness and culture shock of living in a foreign country, but others advised Dharmadhikari to take caution in his decision.

“Life in Bangalore is much tougher than other cities in India, especially with the traffic and restrictions on movement,” wrote one X user. Dharmadhikari replied that he didn’t disagree, but that he had friends in Bangalore and wanted to return.
