Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Tottenham loanee Timo Werner is keen to sign for Spurs, but recent comments from Ange Postecoglou suggest whether the Tottenham side will take up a buy option. It seems there is.

werner He joined Spurs on a six-month loan in January. The deal was a surprise to many, not least because Werner hadn’t exactly set the world on fire during his previous spell at Chelsea in England.

Nevertheless, the loan agreement meant the deal was risk-free. tottenham. If the German international fails to return to the spotlight in the Premier League, he will likely be sent back to his parent club RB Leipzig at the end of the season.

However, Werner has scored a respectable five goals in 11 games for Tottenham, winning praise for his direct running and ability to stretch the defense at the back.

Werner is a striker by trade, but has so far been used primarily on the left wing.

His versatility is another thread in his bow, TEAMtalk exclusively revealed in mid-March Werner was determined to sign a permanent contract with Spurs.

That scenario could become a reality if Tottenham activate their buy option. The option is understood to be worth £15m per German outlet build, In any case, a decision must be made by June 14th..

Now, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano echoed our report and declared: He wants to stay at Tottenham.”

Werner has effectively given the go-ahead for his move, and given his stance, Tottenham would be comfortable negotiating with the player on personal terms.

So the most pertinent question to ask now is whether the Spurs will activate the option.

Spurs look for chances but Postecoglou drops big hint

talk to Caught offsideRomano said Tottenham would not rush into making a decision and would make a final decision towards the end of the season.

“Timo Werner is clear. He wants to stay at Tottenham, but Spurs will decide what to do closer to the end of the season, not now,” Romano said.

“I have nothing to add regarding the news as this is the club’s stance and there is nothing we can do about it.

“Spurs would like to have some time to talk, probably around May. Werner is happy at Tottenham, but it’s up to the club.”

However, Romano insists Tottenham have not made a decision yet, although Postecoglou’s recent comments strongly suggested he would agree to bring Werner back to north London next year.

Speaking to reporters last week, Postecoglou described Werner as a “great signing” and spoke of his importance to the team.

“A decision will be made at the appropriate time.” Postecoglou said..

“In my opinion, he made a great contract. He has played a very important role in our structure.”

With Postecoglou and Werner both keen and with an option to buy for a reasonable price of just £15m, it looks increasingly likely that a permanent deal will cross the line.
