The report found that 47% of consumers are looking for something different and 46% enjoy discovering new flavors. Consumers are also more likely to experiment with food from convenience stores. Flavor Consumer Trends Report 36% of consumers say they are likely or very likely to try new flavors in the prepared food section of a convenience store.
In addition, Technomic Flavor Consumer Trends Report 62% of consumers like to try new flavors of food from time to time, 60% of consumers say they are likely to try new or unique flavors for dinner, and 50% say they are likely to try them for snacks. So what does this mean for convenience foodservice? Retailers should add bold and exciting flavors to their lineup.
Mexican food offers flavors that appeal to consumers
Mexican food is popular among consumers because of its appealing taste that makes it appealing to eat.
According to Technomic Flavor Consumer Trends ReportThe flavor most desired by consumers is cheese at 60%, followed by sweet at 59%, salty at 58% and spicy at 55%. The most desirable/very desirable flavors are salty at 62%, sweet at 52% and spicy at 48%.
