“After two and a half to three years of isolation and quarantine due to COVID-19, the days of blank, white walls are over,” Teresa says. “Just like in our favorite romantic comedies, our spaces should reflect our personalities, layering textures and colors to showcase our more personal items and style.”

“The rom-com decor trend is all about infusing a space with nostalgia, playfulness, and romance,” Chelsea points out. “A key aspect of this trend is pattern layering—combining different patterns and textures to create a rich, eclectic look.” Think distressed wood, velour or velvet textures, and contemporary clean, crisp lines. Maybe even throw in some lava lamps or anglepoise lights in the mix.
