New York University President Linda Mills’ home in New York City was vandalized on Tuesday afternoon. Videos on social media showed a blood-like substance on the front door and on the sidewalk outside. The incident coincides with ongoing pro-Palestinian protests on college campuses across the United States.

According to a DNYUZ news report, the vandalism stemmed from criticism Mills received after the arrest of student protesters who camped on New York University’s campus last week. These protesters, like many others across the United States, are calling on universities to “disclose and divest” their investments in companies linked to Israel and support the ongoing ceasefire. are doing. conflict between israel and hamas.

The NYPD is investigating the vandalism. New York University officials called the action “overreach.”

Less than an hour after the vandalism was reported, author Talia Jane posted a video to X along with an excerpt of a note she had received, claiming responsibility for the act.

A memo purportedly sent to Jane along with the video stated that “members of the outside community in solidarity with NYU students” were behind the act. It also justified the vandalism in response to Mr. Mills, new york universityHe claims to have been “complicit in genocide” and has “blood on his hands.” The memo ended with a message of support for Gaza: “Long live Gaza.”

Protesters believe Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.
