Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with a vibrant group of Kashmir start-ups. The Prime Minister visited Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar as part of the ‘Empowering Youth, Transforming Jammu and Kashmir’ programme organised by Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneur Development Institute (JKEDI).
PM Modi reviewed the creative endeavors of 20 startups and gave special attention to 10 selected by JKEDI. The startups were from both Kashmir and Jammu and showcased a range of innovative solutions and business models.
The startups featured were M/s Turan & Tarub by Sheela Imran, M/s Cheese Cottage Homestay by Insha Shabir, M/s Curve Electric by Sheikh Yameen, M/s Studio Agama by Rahul Bhola, M/s Rach Smart Solutions by Atul Banotra, M/s Daskdan Innovations by Naveed Chiken, M/s Via ENS by Arush Mahajan, M/s Hackers Pathshala by Risheek Kumar, M/s CLMRAT by Manik Bandral and M/s SAP Aerospace by Ayush Divyansh.
Each startup shared their story of how they founded their company and highlighted their passion for innovation. PM Modi commended them for their efforts and encouraged them to continue innovating. The event highlighted the region’s broader goal of contributing to the country’s development.
The startups were presented with mementos at a felicitation event held at the Kashmir Government Art Emporium in Srinagar, which was attended by several key stakeholders including Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Atul Dulloo (IAS), Secretary to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Bikramjit Singh (IPS) and JKEDI Director Rajinder Kumar Sharma (JKAS).
PM Modi’s involvement with startups is not just a symbolic gesture – it shows the potential that exists among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
