A Huntington Beach part-time actor who fraudulently promoted cures and cures for the virus during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic was found guilty by a jury on Friday, May 10th. He was found guilty of 11 counts of wire fraud for solicitation. Federal authorities said it was a bogus cure.

Keith Lawrence Middlebrook, 56, could be sentenced to up to 20 years in federal prison, Justice Department spokesman Ciaran McEvoy said. His sentencing was scheduled for September 9th.

Middlebrook was arrested by FBI agents in El Segundo in March 2020 for allegedly delivering fake pills to an undercover agent posing as an investor, but has been out on $150,000 bail for two months. Federal authorities announced that he had been released. He remained in custody Friday.

Early in the pandemic, Middlebrook solicited potential investors in California, Nevada, New York, Texas and Colorado through text messages and videos posted on YouTube and Instagram. The company promoted a treatment for the new coronavirus infection that it called “pending application.” “QC20” and a treatment called “QP20,” McEvoy said.

McEvoy said Middlebrook claimed to have personally developed treatments and treatments to prevent coronavirus infection. He solicited investments in his companies named Quantum Prevention CV Inc. and Quantum Cure CV 2020 Inc. and promoted “miraculous results with prevention products and treatments” and “risk-free and his 100% guarantee.” ” and made a series of false promises. You can get “huge profits” from your investment. ”

He also falsely stated that Earvin “Magic” Johnson was a director and officer of Middlebrook’s company.

Middlebrook also claimed that Dubai officials have offered to buy his company for $10 billion, an offer that will secure investment, and that seven other companies have already offered between $750,000 and $1 million. McEvoy said he lied by telling potential investors that he was investing in .

Middlebrook’s screen credits include Moneyball and Iron Man 2.
