Colorado School of Mines students now have a unique “Shark Tank” experience thanks to the campus’ new Beck Venture Center.

Mines students, staff, alumni and other supporters celebrated the new building with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 4, followed by the 2024 Entrepreneurship Showcase.

Colorado Mines School will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Beck Venture Center on April 4th. The new building on Washington Avenue will house classrooms and co-working space for Mines students to meet entrepreneurs, investors and mentors.

The building, located at 1700 Washington Avenue, features 31,000 square feet of classrooms, coworking space, study space and meeting areas for Mines students to connect with entrepreneurs, investors and mentors.

There is also a pitch deck and coffee shop on the first floor, and terraces on the second and third floors overlooking downtown Golden and North Table Mountain. The attached parking lot is still under construction.

As Mines officials put it, everything about the Beck Venture Center is “designed with entrepreneurship in mind.” According to a Mines press release, it will be a hub for collaboration and connections between Orediggers and businesses, and can be adapted to host large-scale events for the broader startup community.

It’s also home to the Mines Venture Program, which provides startups with essential support on their journey to launch, including building a network of mentors and advisors and hosting demo days and other events.

At the April 4 ribbon cutting, President Paul Johnson and other mining officials will be joined by Mike and Kelly Beck, additional donors, the architectural team, and others who made the new entrepreneurial hub possible. He expressed his gratitude to his supporters.

This is the third construction project that Audigers is celebrating this year, with a groundbreaking ceremony for the Energy and Minerals Research Facility on November 13th and a ribbon-cutting for the Labriola Innovation District on February 9th. I got it.
