More than 100 Omaha youth will showcase their entrepreneurial skills at the annual Omaha Children’s Business Fair. The Omaha Children’s Business Fair is his one-day marketplace that provides children with a great opportunity to connect with Omaha’s local business owners and leaders and build their entrepreneurial skills. Children created and sold products and services at the fair. Volunteers said this was a team effort to ensure a supportive environment for young entrepreneurs. KETV spoke with organizers of the Omaha Children’s Business Fair, Acton Academy Omaha, and Prairie STEM. They told KETV that the purpose of the business fair is to help children discover their entrepreneurial skills. Rachel Benson, founder of Acton Academy Omaha, said the fair is designed to build business confidence and foster personal growth in children. “Let’s invite them into this safe space and bring our community together so they can realize their ideas, become more and more themselves, and start believing in courage rather than perfection.” said Benson. Rachel Fox volunteers at the Omaha Children’s Business Fair. She said young entrepreneurs learn to be independent while owning their own products. “Not only are they business owners and entrepreneurs, but they take total ownership of what they do. They take pride in what they do,” Fox said. “So it’s not like mom and dad just told them to do it. They did all the work behind the scenes and put the kids out there. No, these kids are brilliant. Their hearts are It’s huge and has a big heart.” The fair will feature 30 local entrepreneurs to mentor and support young professionals. At the end of the event, entrepreneurs will have a chance to win awards in various categories. The event will be held at St. Robert Bellarmine Church on Sunday, April 21st from 2-4 p.m.
