U.S. stock market indexes posted gains on Wednesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average closing up 0.25% at 38,807.33, the S&P 500 rising nearly 1.2% to 5,354.03 and the tech-heavy Nasdaq adding nearly 2% to 17,187.90.
Below are the top stocks that captured the attention of retail traders and investors throughout the day.
NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) shares rose more than 5% to close at $1,224.4 on Wednesday. The intraday high was $1,224.49 and the low was $1,174.68. The company’s 52-week high and low were $1,224.49 and $373.56, respectively. The chipmaker has reached a market cap of $3 trillion, becoming just the third company to reach this milestone after Apple and Microsoft.
Meta Platforms, Inc. (NASDAQ:META) closed up 3.79% to $495.06, with an intraday high of $496.65 and a low of $483.91. Its 52-week high and low were $531.49 and $258.88, respectively. The company is under investigation for allegedly concealing information from federal regulators during its review of the Instagram and WhatsApp acquisitions.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE:TSM) closed at $162.92, up 6.85%. The intraday high was $163.73 and the low was $157.95. Its 52-week high and low were $163.73 and $84.02, respectively. The company is playing a key role as Chinese AI chip companies design less powerful processors to comply with US sanctions.
Lululemon Athletica (NASDAQ:LULU) closed at $308.27, up 0.49%. The intraday high was $308.76 and the intraday low was $301.05. The 52-week high and low are $516.39 and $293.03, respectively. The company reported first-quarter revenue of $2.21 billion, beating the market consensus estimate of $2.2 billion.
Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) closed up 0.13% at $175, with an intraday high of $176.15 and a low of $172.13. Its 52-week high and low are $299.29 and $138.8, respectively. The company’s latest Full Self-Driving (FSD) update has some subscribers frustrated as they are not receiving the latest software feature improvements.
