Here are Northampton Saints’ player ratings after their 25-21 win over Bath in the Premiership final at Twickenham on Saturday.
15 George Furbank: He came on at fly-half when Finn Smith was sent off and played a key role in scoring the first two tries. 7
14 Tommy Freeman: He scored the first try and enjoyed an aerial duel with Will Muir but was generally kept in check by Bath, but his defence was superb, making 11 tackles without a miss. 7
13. Burger Odendaal: He ran hard up the field before being substituted but had multiple turnovers. Five
12 Fraser Dingwall: He linked well with fellow playmakers Finn Smith and George Furbank and showed some fine touches in attack. 6
11 Ollie Slateholm: He was the Saints’ most powerful back throughout the match and scored a try with some fine individual skill. Are England calling? 8

Young fly-half shows his true potential
10 Finn Smith: Given Mitchell’s struggles, Smith made good use of the ball he had in his hands, scoring a fine drop goal and manipulating the Bath defence with his ability to delay passes, as well as enjoying long periods of possession. 8
9. Alex Mitchell: They scored the winning try and showed both desire and stamina so they should be given credit for that but overall it was a below average performance and some poor judgement throughout when Ben Spencer caught them out. Four
8 Juarno Augustus: The Springbok prospect finished the season on a high note, performing well on both ends of the pitch in the final. 7
7 Tom Pearson: We’re big fans of the physical openside, but the truth is, he played a solid game but didn’t do anything spectacular. 6
The best of England and Northampton
6. Courtney Rose (c): It was a fitting way to end his Saints career, not just having won a title but also for his performance in the Premiership final. No mercy whatsoever. 8
5. Alex Coles: He’s a ubiquitous presence without any notable intervention, and has even been sent in the opposite direction a few times. 6
4 Alex Moon: They played their part in the lineout but were fairly quiet overall, with Northampton’s front five getting heavily outplayed by the Bath pack. Five
3 Trevor Davison: He struggled early on but enjoyed some duels with Juan Schoeman and made some substitutions. 6
2 Curtis Langdon: He was busy while on the field, but didn’t have the same impact as he has in recent weeks. 6
1 Alex Waller: He struggled against the excellent Thomas du Toit and was eventually substituted early in the second half, but he goes down as a club legend and one of the Saints’ greatest players of all time. Five
replacement: Emmanuel Iyogun was excellent from set pieces, won a vital penalty from Will Stewart and some great runs from George Hendy sealed the win for Northampton. He’s a really talented player. 7
