Nine people, including business owners and managers, have been charged in connection with a hit-and-run at a gathering near South Eugene Street, according to ALE.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) – North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement officers have completed an investigation after multiple people were hit by a vehicle during a large party at a Greensboro gas station, according to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety. person was indicted.

During the investigation, ALE officers learned that weapons, alcohol, and controlled substance violations had occurred on the premises of a nearby store.

All the violations reportedly occurred on the night of March 29.

The following people were indicted:

• Moses Wakila, Whitsett resident, 63 years old (business owner): Failure to supervise, permitting activity on licensed premises.
• Yordanos Tesfaye, 42, resident of Whitsett (Manager): Permitted to operate within licensed premises.
• Jabari Anderson, 24, of Winston-Salem: Providing armed security without a permit (no misdemeanor criminal summons served at this time)
• Isaiah Wesson, 23, of Greensboro: Providing armed security without a permit (misdemeanor criminal summons not served at this time)
• Braden Sales, 20, of Winston-Salem: Providing armed security without a permit (no misdemeanor criminal summons served at this time)
• Tavarius Miller, 27, of Winston-Salem: Unauthorized armed security (misdemeanor criminal summons not served at this time)
• Kiandre Williams, 29, of Winston-Salem: Providing armed security without a permit (no misdemeanor criminal summons served at this time)
• Takknowledge Wagner, 21, of Winston-Salem: Providing armed security without a permit (no misdemeanor criminal summons served at this time)
• Miles Lamar Matthews, 24, of Greensboro: employing unauthorized armed security personnel (misdemeanor criminal summons not served at this time)

On March 29 at approximately 6:31 p.m., Greensboro Police responded to a gathering near South Eugene Street and West Whittington Street, according to a Greensboro Police Department news release.

The event took place during North Carolina A&T State University’s AggieFest, but the university says it was not officially sanctioned.

As officers tried to disperse the crowd, a car sped away at around 7:20 p.m., hitting 15 people.

Greensboro police on Tuesday identified a black Nissan sedan that had been reported stolen as the suspect vehicle in the incident. The car was found abandoned and police are working to identify the driver.

Guilford County EMS said a total of seven people were treated at the scene and six were taken to the hospital, two with serious injuries. The most serious injury reported was a broken bone. Four of the victims were N.C. A&T students.

“We all started running in the opposite direction because we heard the car revving up,” said Kennedy Stewart, a student at North Carolina State Polytechnic Institute. “Neither me nor my friends were trying to run, but everyone was running around us and we got pushed so we had no choice but to go.”
