An independent university in Bangladesh on Wednesday organised an ‘Innovation and Startup Showcase’ showcasing the innovative projects and entrepreneurial spirit of its students.
According to a press release, the event was organised by IUB’s Industry Immersion Programme with the aim of bridging the gap between industry and academia.

The IIP will promote entrepreneurship among students enrolled in various constituent schools of IUB in collaboration with industry and support IUB’s upcoming student co-operative programmes.
The event saw the Computer Science and Engineering department showcasing innovative work by its undergraduate students. Eminent industry leaders and members of the Industry Advisory Board of IUB’s CSE department evaluated the innovative projects and awarded the best teams.
The judges included ADN Group Chairman Asif Mahmood, BACCO Managing Director and Co-founder of Digicon Technologies Ltd Wahid Sharif, Chaldal Co-founder and COO Zia Ashraf and DataSoft Systems Bangladesh Ltd Chairman Hasan Imam.
The event was attended by IUB Board Chairman Didar A. Hussain, Vice Chancellor Tanweer Hasan, Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Niaz Ahmed Khan, Finance Minister Khandkar Mohammed Iftekhar Haider and senior management and faculty members of IUB.
Sabrina Alam, director of IIP and a faculty member of CSE at IUB, said the IIP plans to hold similar events in future to showcase the work of students from other constituent faculties and schools.
