MVP says Triple H said ‘no’ to bringing back The Hurt Business

The Hurt Business, a faction comprised of Montel Vontavious Porter, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander, were WWE’s featured act during the pandemic’s empty arena/ThunderDome shows. They disbanded in early 2021, briefly reunited later that year, but disbanded for good in 2022.

Fans have repeatedly called for the group to reunite, and WWE has occasionally hinted at a return, but there’s been no sign of it happening: MVP teamed with Omos while rehabbing an injury, Benjamin was fired, Lashley has been out since May after WWE announced his injury, and Alexander has teamed with Ashante Adonis in a tag team that has not produced any results.

Now, Porter has posted a photo on his Instagram of the group in their heyday and says that WWE Chief Creative Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque has rejected his request to reunite The Hurt Business, a decision that MVP has also responded to by fans’ questions and comments, suggesting may have been racially motivated.

Can the damaged business be restored?

MVP: Triple H said no.

I would love to see The Hurt Business back on TV, but the only way I would want that to happen is if translation: is back. The Hurt Business wouldn’t exist without him. When he comes back, let’s do it again!

MVP: That’s the only way. And the current administration doesn’t want that.

And the old man broke you guys up with that fucking heat, I was pissed.

MVP: And his son-in-law never put it back together again.

I can’t believe Vince screwed this up…I think it was him.

MVP: Triple H had the power to fix it.

I should have kept you guys together, Vince, dammit.

MVP: Triple H had the power to fix it. He chose not to. Think about it.

They missed out on a lot of profit because of that. It’s a mess!

MVP: And there was no explanation as to why.

Talk to Hunter, Nick and William and form a band. Bobby Lashley, translation:and translation:

MVP: So I did. He said no.

They gave your gimmick and crew to the Bloodlines. That’s what happened. You guys were so cool. The suits, the attitude, the money. The perfect team!

MVP: true story.

Vince totally screwed this up, I’m surprised he’s not in favor of bringing it back.

MVP: wrong.

I never understood why Hurt Business broke up. They were so cool. The breakup felt forced. There was no other band that had the same vibe before or after.

MVP: Dark forces were at work.

The lackluster reunion ruined whatever credibility THB had left.

MVP: And you know who did it…

The Triple H era is making black men feel less manly. I really hate it.

MVP: I can see it.

Meanwhile, MVP has told fans that he won’t be part of a revival of The Hurt Business without Benjamin, and has also suggested that he doesn’t want to be involved in rebooting the concept with new teammates.
