LUBBOCK, Texas – Devrys Britt Jr. and James Clark Jr. are teenagers who are on a mission to beautify Lubbock one yard at a time this summer. The teenage cousins have started a business called Young Boy Lawn Services and are actively building a clientele.
The boys, ages 15 and 13, started weeding their family’s yards and soon realized they could make money doing it.
“They would get together and ask people through Dunbar if they needed their yards mowed, and Dunbar would do it cheaply,” said one of the boys’ family members.
After a while, the duo began adding staff to the business, which started to gain traction: The Guadalupe Parkway Summerville Center posted to social media on Tuesday morning about Young Boy Lawn Services, praising the group for mowing the center’s lawn.
“Now they’re growing a professional business,” the boys’ family said. Other kids have asked to work with them. As the business has grown, [they] We are willing to hire anyone who is willing to work.”
