GREEN BAY – On Broadway has launched its second annual Mini Boss Vendorship Program for kids 15 and under.
The program is designed to help young entrepreneurs acquire important business skills such as financial literacy and responsibility.
“Last year was our first time doing it and it was a huge success,” said Mary Lord, On Broadway’s vice president of marketing and communications. “Seeing kids do something they love and helping them start a business is really what On Broadway is about – supporting entrepreneurs. With the Mini Boss program, there’s no age limit.”

“When I think about who I am at that point in my life, I’m finding my path and trying to figure out what I want to do,” Lord added. “Seeing kids who have a real passion for creating, whether it’s baking, bracelets, jewelry or other handmade items, it’s great to be able to nurture that passion and give them a stage to promote their products and business. Who knows what will happen, maybe they’ll end up with a brick-and-mortar store here on Broadway.”
For many young vendors, a desire to try their hand at entrepreneurship is the main reason they attend farmers markets.
Many of them were inspired by promotions from friends and decided to share their talents with their local communities.
The opportunity to have a booth at the Farmer’s Market also provided many learning opportunities.
“I’ve learned not to give up,” Kaylee Bishop said, “I’ve lost a lot of bracelets so far, but it’s worth it and I’m really excited about the farmers market.”
“You can never be too prepared,” said Finn Hatch, another vendor.
The Mini Boss Market will continue to provide opportunities for young entrepreneurs every Wednesday through August 7 at Red Sculpture Park during the On Broadway Farmers Market.
