‘I was heartbroken’: F1 racer regrets turning down role in Top Gun: Maverick

F1 racer Lewis Hamilton talks about how he asked Tom Cruise to star in the “Top Gun” sequels, but when he was offered the role he turned it down.

When asked by Deadline if new technology was being used to capture the necessary footage of the car racing, Kosinski said, “At this level of performance, yes. Custom-made cameras that are very small and lightweight so as not to interfere too much with the car’s performance “That’s key, because you don’t want to have 200 pounds of equipment on a race car. We even designed the camera mount in collaboration with Mercedes. The cameras were custom designed by Sony,” the film’s producer Jerry Bruckheimer previously said. F1The film’s high-octane car races created a need for better technology. Necessity is the mother of invention.

F1 will have better technology than Top Gun: Maverick

Kosinski said, F1 Compared to his previous work, Top Gun: Maverick. This is the next generation of what we did. Top GunEverything is much smaller, and the big innovation is being able to control the movement of the camera mounted on the car. We are not bound by such fixed positions. Top GunNow, through the extremely extensive RF network we’ve built around the track, we can control pan and focus in real time as we’re shooting.”

But all the technology in the world can’t save a bad story. Bruckheimer emphasizes the need to create emotional stories. “What we have to do is Give the audience emotion. look Top Gun: Maverick Without all the flying scenes and all the amazing scenes that Joe did, and without that inspiring story, audiences would never have stood in line to see it, or seen it a second or third time. I’m going to try to do the same here”
